Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their families have the chance to meet Santa this Christmas through the Highpoint Shopping Centre “Sensitive Santa” program.
Highpoint last year worked with ASD peak body AMAZE to launch the first Sensitive Santa pilot program in Australia.
This year, 45 free Sensitive Santa sessions are being held in the lead-up to Christmas in an environment free of loud noises, music, crowds and unpredictable situations.
Highpoint general manager Scott Crellin said as a parent of a child with ASD, he knew how hard it was to enjoy such moments. The early-morning sessions will be held until December 21.
