Williamstown will host its second annual Macedonian Cultural Festival later this month.
Festival committee member Sam Sekulovski said it would feature four Macedonian dance troupes, singers, musicians, traditional cuisine and food demonstrations.
Mr Sekulovski said the festival aimed to showcase Macedonian culture to the broader community.
“It’s not a Macedonian festival for Macedonians – it’s a Macedonian festival for everyone, including the local Macedonian community,” he said.
“We’re a fairly large community in Melbourne.
“It’s one of the principal ways of demonstrating to the broader community who we are, our culture, food, music, dance. Also, it’s a way of connecting some of our younger kids to understand where their heritage lies,” Mr Sekulovski said.
Last year’s inaugural festival attracted about 8000 people.
This year there will also be carnival rides and an animal farm for children.
All proceeds will go back into the community.
The festival is at Commonwealth Reserve, Williamstown, from 10am-5pm on Sunday, November 22.
