Australian cricketer Ellyse Perry coaches Brookeside College grade 4 pupil Kiany on the finer points of batting at a mega-sports clinic held in Footscray last Tuesday.
Perry and Southern Stars one-day international captain Meg Lanning joined 500 primary school pupils at Merv Hughes Oval, where they spoke to students about being active through sport, living a healthy lifestyle and increasing girls’ participation in sport.
The children also signed up to the Premier’s Active April challenge, committing to do 30 minutes’ exercise for 30 days.
