Police want to speak to this man in relation to a suspicious car fire and alleged assault.

Wyndham Crime Investigation Unit detectives are on the hunt for two men following a suspicious car fire in Laverton North last month.

Emergency services were called to a car fire at Leakes Road in Laverton North about 2.45am on Sunday, May 3, to find the Holden Rodeo parked in a rear car park of a business.

Police are treating the fire as suspicious.

Detectives believe the men may also be responsible for an alleged assault in Werribee in December last year.

Police have been told a man was approached by two men on a Werribee train station platform and hit to the head a number of times just before 2am on December 9.

The victim received cuts and bruises to the back of his head and had his wallet and mobile phone stolen.

Can you help?

Police are calling on anyone with information about either incident to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or go to www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
