Charming character: 17 Lenore Crescent, Williamstown, 3016

Lenore Crescent is filled with character and history.

The crescent’s curves were developed to rectify a “dogleg”, creating what the Williamstown Advertiser described as a “serpentine effect” in the private development built on crown land from 1912.

The house at 17 Lenore is an inter-war bungalow (the architecture from the period between Edwardian and post-war times).

It has unmistakable charm and was renovated thoroughly before being purchased and further updated by the present owners.

The interior spaces are contemporary, tasteful, refined and instantly relaxing thanks to quality fittings and the preserved and restored period details found throughout.

Hardwood floors and hydronic heating in every room add to the welcoming atmosphere.

The front living room on entry is picture-perfect-cosy. There is a dining space opposite followed by the high-end 2pac kitchen with quality appliances and soft-closing drawers.

The main bedroom has built-in wardrobing plus a walk-in robe and en suite, all sensitive to the period features of the house.

Two further bedrooms are fitted, the main bathroom has a clawfoot bath shower.

The second living room features a fireplace and views of the beautiful garden.Glass sliding doors open to an entertainer’s area, with a second under-cover space next to a bricked barbecue.

Brick paving looks idyllic set against the green spaces.

The sizeable period-style workshop faces the house. It has been partially restored with a concrete floor and power and could easily be upgraded to become another bedroom or studio space.

Off-street parking for four cars has been achieved within this tight pocket thanks to a small land acquisition that could easily be converted into a tandem garage to add further value.

Ferguson Street and Douglas Parade shops and services are moments away, Williamstown Beach a little further in the other direction.

In the heart of Williamstown, this is a beautiful property set on a street with a difference.
