Sophisticated, sharp, sumptuous … they’re just three words that come to mind for this contemporary triumph. Designed by architect Tina Lindner, who also did the interior, the residence is awash with a glam that matches its prized locale – less than a block from The Strand waterfront.

It spans three levels, one a bluestone-paved rooftop terrace, an area where the electric dumbwaiter (stopping all levels) comes in mighty handy and exemplifies design excellence. The precision architecture all through is refined and eye-catching; materials and textures are rich and luxe; and the palette of cool soft-greys and whites is tempered by warm timbers.

Timber batons are a recurring motif, first seen on the generous entry hall’s wall. Here, the staggered horizontal batons suggest a dynamic invitation to proceed, while in other spots they are vertical and form either accent or subtle screen.

The entry hallway runs past main bathroom, laundry and the three fitted bedrooms before culminating in a study with outdoor access. The expansive main bedroom has lavish storage and a sumptuous en suite with gorgeous tiling, a free-standing tub and matte-black tapware. And the shared bathroom is equally swish.

At the top of open-tread American oak stairs emerges a stunning living hub, with an office/bedroom and neighbouring powder room at the back.

American oak floorboards provide the anchor to a soaring ceiling and hefty bulkhead, while the dining zone has a bespoke lowboy and the sitting area has bifolds (dressed again in dreamy sheers) that open to a private balcony.

The showstopper kitchen has a stunning waterfall stone island bench, top-notch seamless 2pac cabinetry, beautiful stone splashbacks, matte-black tapware and a suite of seven Miele appliances.

One of many perks at this place is the amazing carpeted cinema room that adjoins the double garage – and there are two more parking spots in the common area.
