Sublime. Period. : 93 Pasco Street, Williamstown, 3016

It’s little wonder that this place was featured in House & Garden – it truly is a triumph of design in all aspects.

Local outfit Bloom & Co Internal Design were responsible for an entire revamp five years ago. It stands as testament to a bold approach, attention to the smallest detail and an aesthetic that transcends the expected.

The entry hall is the first wow moment among many. Laid with the same oak parquetry floorboards as in all living areas, it has stunning wallpaper above white wainscoting, corbelled archway and wide cornices and deep skirts. Breaking the mould are the two large industrial pendants suspended from ceiling roses. In less capable hands, they could be jarring but in the overall context, they are perfect.

The three grey-carpeted and fitted bedrooms along the hall have beautiful designer wallpaper accents and chandeliers. One also has a fireplace.

The chic bathroom has stylish tiling, clawfoot tub, marble vanity and walk-in shower.

Fireplaces and dramatic chandeliers also appear in the lounge and dining rooms along the hall.

These rooms interlink via a corbelled archway and have french doors to the side verandah and very pretty gardens.

White plantation shutters are on most windows and charcoal-painted doors have classy fittings (an example of those small but telling details).

At entry hall’s end, a door with original transom opens to the living hub. In here, a wall of french doors, dressed in full-height grey sheers, open to the side verandah, while the marble-benched laundry is behind a black barn door.

The sublime kitchen, with a vast marble island bench, has Smeg dual underbench ovens, 900mm gas cooktop and dishwasher.Servery and other lovely windows behind the butler’s sink reveal garden views, including a heritage-listed elm tree shading a pleasing garden and off-street parking for two cars.

At the top of the stairs, a study/reading nook, with shelves and marble bench, precedes the main bedroom under a vaulted ceiling. Marble-topped lowboys run under full-width windows, walls have charcoal embossed wallpaper and wall lamps are as fine as every other lightfitting.

A walk-in wardrobe and impressive en suite complete this dreamy retreat.

Opposite prestigious Williamstown High School, this property should be on every savvy buyer’s radar.
