Musical echo

Hard working classic rock-punk band My Echo are launching new single Old and Grey, the first taste of debut album Brothers, with a gig this Friday. Footscray drummer Henry Hollingsworth and Maribyrnong bass player Steve Peluso will help drive the fast, loud and punchy tracks from 8.30pm at The Workers Club, 51 Brunswick Street, Fitzroy. Tickets $15.

 

Books fest

The second free Books Fest will be from noon-3pm on August 20 at Altona library. Meet local authors and illustrators, and enjoy storytellers, musicians and craft.

 

Community classes

Classes starting soon at Yarraville Community Centre include cooking and art workshops.

Voting information

Maribyrnong council will hold a session on voting in the council election for people with disabilities. Monday, August 15 at the Maribyrnong City Council reception room, 2.30-3.30pm. RSVP:

Car torque

The Hobsons Bay Men’s Shed Motoring Group will show their cars and talk the torque from 10am-3pm on August 7 at 280 Queen Street, Altona. The public is welcome to bring and show their classic/custom cars and motorbikes and enjoy a sausage sizzle.
