Waiting and waiting

Yarraville playwright Nicholas Lah’s Waiting for Waiting for Godot brings to the Melbourne Fringe Festival Out West a witty, absurd take on a classic. The play is based on a book the playwright has never read, about a book he may not find, about a man that does not arrive. At Kindred Studios from September 29 to October 2. Tickets $18/15. School holiday fun

Hobsons Bay libraries will host numerous school holiday events including fun with water critters and reptiles, Minecraft, a magic show, movies and LEGO sessions. Details on the libraries’ website.

 

Car boot sale

Hobsons Bay Men’s Shed will hold a car boot sale from 10am-3pm on September 18 at 280 Queen Street, Altona (old EPA building). Car sites cost $10 and entry is free to the public. There will be a sausage sizzle and the shed’s technology group will be selling computers and parts.

 

Being heard

What is the future of music in Footscray? A panel of music industry experts will explore opportunities, challenges and hurdles for emerging musicians and producers. Free, from 6-7.30pm on Wednesday, September 21, at VU at MetroWest, 138 Nicholson Street, Footscray.

 

Scout day

1st Laverton Scout Group will have an open day from 10am-4pm on Saturday, October 8 at 1st Laverton Scout Group, Railway Parade, Laverton. Activities will include cooking damper, rope knots, basic first aid, a jumping castle and sausage sizzle.
