Moscow Circus

The Great Moscow Circus is coming to Altona for 18 shows as part of its 50th anniversary tour. The high-energy production will feature a line-up of 14 Russian and other international acts in the big top at Apex Park from June 22 to July 10. Tickets from $29.

Chasing Asylum Q&A

Yarraville’s Sun Theatre will host a special screening of the documentary Chasing Asylum, followed by an open Q&A with candidates for the Federal seat of Gellibrand, Tim Watts (Labor) and Jonathon Marsden (Greens), discussing their parties’ policies and taking questions from the audience. From 7-9.30pm Wednesday, June 22.

Plastic-free trivia night

A trivia night to launch Plastic Free July will be held from 7.30-11pm on June 24 at Hobsons Bay Yacht Club in Williamstown.

Picturing BluScray

Victoria University (VU) has received more than 180 entries for the Picturing BluScray photography prize, to be launched from 6-8pm on Thursday, June 30 at VU at MetroWest, 138 Nicholson Street, Footscray. Exhibition closes July 23.

 

Winter drive

Donate food to the West Welcome Wagon and Hobsons Bay Refugee Network food drive at Bendigo Bank Seddon community branch as well as at many local schools and businesses until Saturday, July 2.

Aboriginal storytelling

Aboriginal storyteller Ron Murray will perform didgeridoo and storytelling from 1.30-2.30pm on July 4 at The Substation in Newport.
