Encourage your child to thrive at St Aloysius

Situated in Melbourne’s inner north, St Aloysius College strives to acknowledge the individuality of all young people who call the school theirs, encouraging students to pursue their passions and discover their own brilliance.

One extension of this is the college’s impressive sports program that enables students to access elite level coaching, participate in a wide selection of sports, make use of industry-leading facilities, and partake in fierce intercollegiate competition.

Becoming a co-educational college for the first time this year, St Aloysius has become a proud member of the Association of Co-Educational Schools (ACS), and remains a member of the Catholic Girls’ Sport Association of Victoria (CGSAV).

St Aloysius College’s Head of Sport, Tom Madden explained there’s been a strong focus from the college on evolving its sports program over the last few years and these memberships will certainly add to that.

“Our membership as an ACS school gives students of all abilities the opportunity to participate in a broad spectrum of sports,” he said.

The ACS program runs over weekdays and has a vast variety of sports on offer to cater to a range of interests, including AFL, athletics, basketball, hockey, netball, soccer, swimming, table tennis, tennis and volleyball.

“The weekday program supports students who are pursuing club sport at an elite level to continue their weekend club training and competition, while also participating in school-based sport with their peers,” Mr Madden said.

Additionally, the program encourages students to build relationships as they access the exceptional facilities and coaching that’s available to them.

Beyond the sporting opportunities available, St Aloysius also has an expansive co-curricular program designed to ignite and engage the broad range of student interests and passions, including a school-wide Wellbeing program, school camps, outdoor education, drama productions, ensemble music, and clubs designed to foster awareness of social and environmental matters.

Additionally, students can compete in intra- and inter-school competitions in creative and performing arts, debating, chess and public speaking.
