Jumping from Footscray into the online word

Witness a dystopian future where climate change has ravaged the world in an interactive street theatre performance in Footscray this Saturday.

Western Edge Youth Arts has partnered with partnered with local business Trade Creative Media to create #CalibanSt, a street theatre show that will leap into the online world.

Audiences and users at home will be able to interact with the characters online using the hashtag #CalibanSt. Online viewers will be able to watch a video of the performance from different perspectives, or click through to social media pages where the story continues to unfold.

#CalibanSt combines slap-stick, audience interaction, fast and funny poetic dialogue, and strange and complex characters in two free shows 11am and noon Saturday in Chambers St laneway, Footscray, as part of the Big West Street Party.

The Big West Festival opens in Paisley Street at 6pm Friday night and runs until November 28. Details: www.bigwest.com.au
