A casting call to arms has gone out for fantasy film Order of the Wolf.

Newport actor Tim Ferris, who has appeared in films and TV series including Underbelly, City Homicide and Rush, stars in the film.

Cast and crew are being sought for the movie, which will be shot by Newport cinematographer Jerry Creaney in July and August at locations in and around Melbourne and central Victoria.

Creaney’s son Ryan, who sells his novellas on Amazon, wrote the film script for his father’s movie. Ryan’s work has a huge cult following in the US.

Ferris says the film revolves around a battle to obtain the True Cross, a relic bringing power and wealth to those who possess it.

“It’s very Game of Thrones,” he said. “I hope that’s not too ambitious to speak of the project like that.”

Jerry Creaney is crowdfunding to raise about half the film’s budget.

Funds would be used for costumes, to secure locations and pay actors and crew.
