Get set for Great Willy Bake Off and seaside fair

It only comes around once every four years, and this year’s Willy Primary Seaside Fair is poised to turn up the heat.

Following in the grand tradition of the Great British Bake-off and the Royal Melbourne Show, this month’s fair features the Great Willy Bake-Off – a cutthroat baking competition for kids.

Children have until this Friday to lodge their interest in entering their baked item on the day.

The fair will also feature rides for children and adults, a Willy’s Got Talent contest and entertainment including a concert by The Mudcakes.

Australia’s best-selling children’s author and Williamstown resident Andy Griffiths – who last week won the prestigious Dromkeen Medal – will be signing books at the event.

Williamstown Football Club, a major sponsor of the fair, will have mascot ‘Speccie’ helping to sell memberships and merchandise on the day.

The fair is from 10am-4pm on November 15 at 115 Cecil Street, Williamstown.

The deadline for entries into the bake-off is this Friday. Entries must be delivered to the fair by 9.30am on the day.
