Outsiders are coming to Fringe

Steve Cooper

Fresh from a sell-out season at the Castlemaine Fringe Festival, Hobo Playhouse is bringing its award-winning production of Outsiders to Footscray.

Young slam poet Sam Hasell opens the show with a captivating view of the world in 2015 through a young person’s eyes.

Hasell believes poetry bridges the gaps between us by helping people share stories and ideas.

The cast of Bums, a comedy/drama by Robert Shaffron, will then introduce you to a group of characters who all earn their living on the street.

Starring Belinda Winthrop, Steve Cooper, John Piggott and Matt Greenaway, the play follows the intertwined stories of a homeless person, a sex worker, an ageing busker and a small time conman.

Outsiders: An evening of drama, comedy and slam poetry is part of the Melbourne Fringe Festival this Friday and Saturday only, at the Bluestone Church Arts Space in Footscray, 10A Hyde St, Footscray. Tickets $25/$15.
