Legendary Australian rockers Painters and Dockers will light up the stage in Yarraville this Australia Day as they headline the second Stony Creek Music Festival.
The free community festival, which will be at McNish Reserve at Cruickshank Park from 1-8pm on Tuesday, will feature live music, entertainment for children, food trucks, community stalls and a ‘Welcome to Country’ ceremony.
Painters and Dockers will be joined by acts including Nick Barker and the Heartache State, Rebecca Barnard and the Delinquents, The Mud Cakes and Jadida.
Workshops for children will include gardening, health and creative hat-making.
Maribyrnong mayor Cameron McDonald said there was likely to be plenty of dancing, thanks to the impressive stage line-up.
“The Stony Creek Musical Festival was warmly welcomed by the community when it first ran in November 2014 as part of our Festival City program, so we’re delighted to bring it back even bigger and better for Australia Day 2016,” he said.
“This community festival really does have something for everyone and we encourage the community to come down at some stage of the afternoon and soak up the Australia Day atmosphere.”
