One of Shakespeare’s most beloved plays will be brought to life on the banks of the Maribyrnong River this month.

Sly Rat Theatre Co will bring six free sunset performances of A Midsummer Night’s Dream to Maribyrnong’s Pipemaker’s Park.

The immortal tale of love, romance, magic and temptation centres around two young lovers who follow their hearts and escape into a mystical forest full of intrigue and danger.

Directed by Alan Chambers, the play will include Brendan Ewing as mischievous elf Puck, Zak Zavod as fairy king Oberon and Angelique de St Jorre as fairy queen Titania.

It opens at 6.30pm on Friday, February 19, with further performances on February 20, 21, 26, 27 and 28.
