Elvis on the pier

Renowned Elvis tribute artist Sean Spiteri is coming to Williamstown.

Spiteri, who was ranked Australia’s No.1 “ultimate Elvis tribute artist” in 2012 and 2014, said Elvis had been a big part of his life since he was three years old.

“I got brought up with that music,” he said. “ I actually watched the

’68 Comeback Special when he made his return to performing live and was just awestruck at the age of three. I started my business when I was 12.”

Spiteri said he worked hard to act and sound like Elvis, which included going through acting school.

“I really had to work hard at my voice,” he said.

“I really had to work hard at those mannerisms as well and the charisma – it didn’t happen overnight.”

His concert portrays Elvis at one of the peaks of his career, the late ’60s and early ’70s, when he was a huge hit in Las Vegas and had hits such as Suspicious Minds, In the Ghetto and Burning Love.

After the Elvis show, the party will continue with DJ Genesis (Matthew Spiteri, no relation) and Spiteri singing as himself.

Elvis On The Pier will run from 7.30-11.30pm on Friday, April 1, at Pelicans Landing, 1 Syme Street, Williamstown. Entry is free but dinner bookings are essential and can be made by calling 9397 0155.
