Williamstown will this month host the third Wine and Cheese Fest at Seaworks, with more than 60 wine, cheese and gourmet food artisans there to tantalise the tastebuds.

Festival founder and director Sotir Stojcevski said many events lay false claim to being festivals, but this will be the real deal.

“There are so many ‘festivals’ around Melbourne, but they are actually just tasting events. This one is a festival in the real sense of the word,” he said.

“So, you’ve got live music all day, jazz, we have DJs, we have an after party as well. Then we have a kids’ zone. We also have lots of food and wine demonstrations.

“We’re going to have wine-making and cheese-making presentations … the grape stomp comp is something that only our festival has in Melbourne.”

Competitors will vie for prizes by producing as much grape juice as possible, using their feet.

All-day master classes with industry leaders will include wine and cheese matching and speed tasting.

The festival is on Sunday, October 23 from 11am-6pm.

There are 5000 tickets; prices start at $24.
