The team members at Footscray’s Eleanor Clinic are passionate about preventative care – not just for their patients but for themselves as well.
Diane DiBlasi, the clinic’s business manager, says she and the team will be wearing red on Valentine’s Day, February 14.
“We are doing this for those we hold dear in our hearts who have this disease and suffer from its devastating effects – and for those we have lost from heart disease,” Diane says.
“This is a war we can help win. How? By being proactive with our health and by looking after ourselves.
“We encourage everyone to book in for a check-up, not just think about it. Have your blood pressure measured and get your blood sugar checked – it’s all so easy to do with just one visit.
“It doesn’t matter how old you are. Heart disease can strike any adult at any age, depending on your risk factors.
“Wouldn’t it be a good thing to know you have done your bit for your family by simply taking care of yourself? We definitely believe so.”
On Valentine’s Day, the clinic is offering morning tea and free blood pressure measurements for new and existing patients.
“All we ask is that you wear something red in support of the day – and tell your friends and family about it.
“No appointment is needed, just pop in between 9am and 12pm.”
