Vietnamese fun, study for Footscray Primary School pupils

A group of Footscray Primary School pupils has touched down in Vietnam for a two-week study tour.

Principal Philip Fox is leading the 19 year 5 and 6 students, six
staff and two parents in an adventure that will take in the cities of
Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Hoi An as well as a three-day visit to
“sister school” Phuoc Tien Primary School in beachside Nha Trang.

Supporting the Footscray school’s bilingual program, the pupils
will have the chance to try out their Vietnamese language skills in
classrooms, markets and cities.

Mr Fox said the whole school community could follow and share the journey though Skype, email and a blog.

“The study tour is certainly exciting, innovative and
challenging,” he said. “We find the students enjoy the responsibility,
and the experience really enriches their learning.”
