A Laverton family is clinging on to the hope that their beloved dog, missing since August, will return home.
Jess Michallef and her daughters Shayla, 4, and Shanae, 2, have put up posters and searched the streets of Werribee for eight weeks, hoping to find their dog Ellie.
The pregnant staffie went missing on August 21 after escaping from Ms Michallef’s yard. Ellie would have had her puppies by now.
Ms Michallef’s other dog, Diesel, also escaped but was later found in Cottrell Street, Werribee.
She said neighbours reported seeing a man rounding up Diesel and Ellie on the day they went missing.
“[My daughters] keep asking for her,’’ Ms Michallef said.
“I am assuming she is still alive, but there has been no sightings of her.”
