Hobsons Bay on Monday hosted its first “Talking Difference” workshop at Altona North as part of its support for an Australia-wide anti-racism campaign.
Organised by the Immigration Museum’s Sam Boivin, the ongoing workshop involves a portable studio where people answer pre-recorded questions about racism, difference and diversity.
Mr Boivin said questions raised during the workshop included whether it was OK to laugh about someone’s skin colour or accent.
“We had some excellent questions; they’re all around the theme of race-based discrimination.”
Another interactive workshop will be held at Williamstown library on May 21 from 1pm-2.30pm. Bookings are required.
