Female joggers fall victim to predator in Newport and Yarraville

Police are hunting for a man who has been preying on female joggers in Newport and Yarraville.

Footscray detectives have been told three women have been indecently assaulted in the past fortnight.

The incidents all occurred between 6am and 8am.

On April 29 a woman was approached at the intersection of Mason and Carmen streets, Newport, while a second woman was assaulted at the intersection of Mason and Gordon streets on May 2.

A third woman was attacked on May 14 near the Yarraville Gardens on Harris Street, Yarraville. 

Each woman was approached while jogging, grabbed from behind and indecently assaulted.  

In each attack the women were wearing headphones.

Footscray Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team detectives are seeking anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area.

The attacker is described as Caucasian, aged between 20-30 and around 160-170 centimetres.

He was wearing a hooded top pulled up over his head, tracksuit pants and runners at the time of the incidents.
