Hobsons Bay and Maribyrnong schoolchildren will be among more than 300,000 students nationwide to ride, walk, scooter or skate to school for National Ride2School Day on Friday.
Altona, St Mary’s and Williamstown primary schools has registered and urged other schools to get involved.
Hobsons Bay councillor Sandra Wilson. who often rides with her son to Altona Primary School and will be participating in the event, said the riding to school is a great way to be active and to avoid the stress of the morning drop off.
Motorists are being urged to watch out for more children on the road.
