$20,000 of copper wire allegedly stolen

Police are investigating the alleged theft of $20,000 worth of copper wire from a Maribyrnong work site last month.

Senior Constable Al Parsons said it has been alleged that two unknown men gained entry to the worksite on the corner of Aquatic Drive and Rosamond Road in Maribyrnong between 12.15am and 3am on Monday, September 12.

“Police were told they began stripping copper wires from the floor and walls,” the spokesperson said.

“Investigators have released CCTV and images of two men they believe may be able to assist with their inquiries.”
