It only comes around once every two years, and November’s Williamstown Primary Seaside Fair is poised to turn up the heat.
Following in the grand tradition of the Great British Bake Off and the Royal Melbourne Show, the fair features the Great Willy Bake-Off – a cut-throat baking competition for kids.
Australia’s best-selling children’s author and Williamstown resident Andy Griffiths will be signing books at the event.
And this year’s event features the inaugural Wonderful Williamstown photography competition with entries displayed and winners announced on the day.
Local photographer Russell Cassar will select winners from photos submitted by 118 primary and secondary students inside the 3016 post code. The categories are natural environment, our school and people.
The fair will also have rides, a Willy’s Got Talent contest, a silent disco, bubble soccer, golf, stalls, massage tents and entertainment.
The proceeds will go to air-conditioning and upgrading the school’s prep play area.
The fair is from 10am-4pm on November 19, with Griffiths’ book-signing from 1-3pm, at Williamstown Primary School, 115 Cecil Street, Williamstown.
