Seaholme artist Kerrie Gottliebsen has aimed to celebrate some of Hobsons Bay most iconic landmarks in her new exhibition.

Incorporating photography and digital illustration, 11 images featured in the ‘Greetings from Hobsons Bay’ exhibition span across dozens of locations across the west, including in Altona, Williamstown and Seaholme.

Gottliebsen said the works highlighted some of the west’s lesser-known destinations, while celebrating other much-loved industrial and natural landmarks.

“I’m really passionate about creating these vintage inspired posters,” she said.

“They’re sentimental reminders of childhood, growing up and where we experience day-to-day life with friends and family.

“My designs facilitate the expression of pride, happiness, sentimentality and nostalgia for Melbourne’s west.”

The exhibition will be launching at the Newport Bowls Club on Friday, December 9, with an artist talk from 7.45pm to 8.30pm, with a selection then becoming a light box installation at The Outside Gallery at Paine Reserve in Newport until next April.
