A group of Williamstown footballers received coaching from an all-female group on Wednesday, July 21.

As part of the AFL’s second annual Women’s Coaching Month, the Williamstown Seagulls Football Integration Development Association [FIDA] Football Club had an all-women coaching team host the team’s Wednesday training night.

Williamstown VFLW coach Penny Cula-Reid and player Elsa Mangan joined reserves coach Elle Dow and assistant coach Ally Evans.

Ms Dow said the team were continuing to show development, especially in their teamwork skills.

“The cohesion has been really good,” she said.

President Rob Klemm said having women coach and develop the team was “par for the course”.

“We’ve always had female involvement in the club,” he said.
