Altona police are encouraging members of the local community to get involved with Neighbourhood Watch.
The aim of Neighbourhood Watch is to help people feel safer and more connected where they live.
The program educates residents on ways they can protect themselves from crime, get to know their neighbours and feel part of their community.
Attending an hour long meeting every two to three months is all that is required along with passion for creating a safer community for all.
The more people in the community that get involved in Neighbourhood Watch, the more successful the scheme tends to be.
Altona residents who are interested in joining should contact Altona Police station and leave their details for Leading Senior Constable Dom Alderman to return their call or email.
They can also register their interest online at: https://nhw.com.au
