Gang squad detectives have charged a man and seized drugs, cash and a knife following raids on properties in Altona and South Kingsville on Tuesday.
Police will allege that upon arriving at an Altona gym shortly before 8am on 17 February, a man was sighted walking to an adjoining building and dropping a black satchel bag that had been in his possession.
A search of the bag allegedly revealed varying quantities of methylamphetamine and MDMA, a significant amount of cash, a flick knife and identification documents belonging to the man.
An additional search was then conducted at a residential address in South Kingsville where a small amount of illicit drugs, one can of pepper spray, one can of invisible number plate spray and a baton were seized.
A 41-year-old Altona man was charged with trafficking methylamphetamine, trafficking MDMA, negligently dealing the proceeds of crime, dealing with property suspected of being the proceeds of crime and possessing a controlled weapon.
