Altona North home destroyed by fire

A family home in Altona North was destroyed by fire on Saturday afternoon.

Fire crews arrived at the scene on McArthurs Road about 1pm on June 21 to find the weatherboard house engulfed in flames.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus attacked the fire which emitted smoke throughout the surrounding area.

No people were home at the time of the incident and there were no injuries.

The incident was deemed under control at about 1.27pm.

The cause of the fire has yet to be determined and the investigation is ongoing.
