An Altona North man is nearly a million dollars richer after winning a division one prize in the weekend’s Tattslotto draw.
He was one of four division one winners nationally, taking home $931,789.71.
The man, who wanted to remain anonymous, bought his five-game marked entry at Borrack Square Lotto and Gifts.
A Tatts official ran him on Monday morning, and the winner put his father on the phone to share the news.
“Dad, dad, we won nearly a million dollars,” he shouted.
“Yes! Yes!
“That’s nearly a million bucks. Oh my goodness. Thank you very much.
“Oh my goodness. Thank you. I’m numb. I’m numb.”
The winner said he would share his win with his family.
“We’ve got a huge family,” he said.
“I’ve got brothers and we all need a hand.
“We’ve got heaps of family and we’ll split it between all of us.”
The man said he had played the same numbers, on behalf of his family, for a while.
“We’re a loving family so this win is for all of us,” he said.
Borrack Square Lotto and Gifts owner Jannene Wenzler said she nearly cried when she heard the news.
“It’s the fourth division one winning entry we’ve sold in the four years since we took ownership of the store,” she said.
“We are thrilled they are locals to the area and we want to thank them for supporting our store.”
The other three winners in Saturday night’s draw were from Victoria, Queensland and South Australia.
