Altona North’s Ivan Krslovic left The Bachelorette in dramatic circumstances on Wednesday night.
Ivan, 29, was featured in Star Weekly last September saying he aimed to become Australia’s answer to Channing Tatum after winning a dance scholarship in Los Angeles.
Ivan, aka Ivan the Aussie, grew up in Altona North, going to St Leo the Great Primary School and Emmanuel College (St Paul’s).
Speaking to Star Weekly about his elimination from the show on Wednesday night, he explained what happened in his last two-on-one date with Ali Oetjen and fellow contestant Bill Goldsmith.
“Pretty much, one of the boys threw me under a bus and said I was using the show to get closer to Step Up (film franchise),” he said.
“And another one of the boys threw Bill under the bus and said he’s just telling [Ali] what she wants to hear and that he’s fake and he’s not there for the right reasons, so that’s why me and Bill had been pinned on the date.
“I think it’s ridiculous. I knew I was there for the right reasons and I was really invested in Ali and having a future with her, so it did hurt getting my name called out on the date card.
“I did open up and try to win her over but … I probably could have compromised on a few more things in my life and I think I was a bit stubborn, probably scared her off.
“I think I wasn’t really willing to compromise on my career and future and what I envisioned. If I really thought about it, maybe Step Up can be shot in Australia to be honest instead of just thinking about where it is right now.”
Ivan said he also could have compromised on wanting five kids.
“I don’t think she wants to go through doing it five times, so I probably could have met her half way and done at least a full car load and put one in the street,” he said.
He said he also learned other valuable lessons.
“There’s no bro-code on something like this,” Ivan said.
“I’ve definitely got to have a little bit of a guard up and not throw my heart on the line so early in the game.”
But there’s good news after all this: “I am an eligible bachelor … so, if you know anyone in the area.”
