An Altona Tobacco store has been allegedly torched twice in as many days.
Just before 4am on Thursday, it is believed offenders smashed the front window of a Pier Street store before throwing jerry cans into the premises and setting it alight.
The store sustained minor damage.
Police believe a burnt out white ute located in a car park off Altona Road just before 5am is linked.
On Friday morning at about 4.50am, police were alerted of another fire in the same location.
The fires are being treated as a targeted attack and investigators will assess possible links to other recent fires.
The shop is now established as a crime scene, and an arson chemist attended the scene on Friday morning.
