Three men have been arrested following an investigation in to four sexual assaults by men on jet skis off Altona beach.

It follows an appeal for information after a 15-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by a man on a red jet ski about 6pm on November 27.

The girl was at Altona pier with friends when a man offered to take her for a ride and she accepted.

She was assaulted offshore before being returned to the beach.

Westgate Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team stepped up its investigation after witnesses came forward with information about similar incidents.

Police on Wednesday said four girls, ranging in age from 12 to 16, were each approached by a man on a jet ski who offered to take them for a ride.

“The victims were taken on the jet ski into deeper waters far from the shore where they were sexually assaulted before being returned to the beach,” a police spokeswoman said.

“Investigators would like to thank the public and media for their assistance and the investigation is ongoing.”

Two Meadow Heights men, aged 37 and 40, and a Broadmeadows man, 29, have been interviewed by detectives.

They have been released pending further enquiries.
