Over two Saturdays on June 10 and 24, Hobsons Bay council is running a program called ‘Nature for Health and Wellbeing: Sharing Nature’s Stories’.
The two sessions will teach participants how to tell stories that use nature as their inspiration.
The first session on Saturday, June 10, will be held at Truganina Explosives Reserve in Altona.
Storyteller, author and educator Jackie Kerin will introduce her methods and the process of taking the places and inhabitants she loves and turning them into stories to share with everyone.
The second session on Saturday, June 24, will be held at the Altona Library.
Participants will take what they learned from the first session, and will then learn how to use Adobe Fresco to harness creativity into a digital drawing by practising with drawing leaves and flowers.
This session is open to people of all drawing and artistic ability but is only for ages 16+.
It is important to note this is a two-part event, organisers ask participants to cancel the booking if both sessions cannot be attended.
Council strongly recommends bringing your own device or laptop, with ‘Adobe Fresco’ downloaded with an Adobe account created.
There will be a limited number of iPads available for shared use during the workshop if required.
Participants are encouraged to dress appropriately by wearing covered walking shoes a hat, sunscreen and have water handy.
