Hobsons Bay council has released its 2022 Arts At Your Doorstep program, featuring performances from three entertaining acts for residents of all ages to enjoy.
The program, which will run from Maty through to September, will kick off with ‘Participation Award’, a musical comedy exploration of bullying and Australia’s school system.
Performed by multi-award-winning singer, songwriter and comedian Jude Perl, the performance will take place at 7.30pm on Thursday, May 19 at the Williamstown Town Hall.
Aboriginal singer/songwriter and proud Mutti Mutti, Yorta Yorta and Nari Nari man, Kutcha Edwards will also take to the stage on Wednesday, July 6 as a part of the program, performing ‘Circling Time’, an deep dive into Kutcha’s life through the themes of Country, Birth, Youth, Politics, Love and Culture.
For the grand finale, Tim Sneddon and Jeff Achtem from Bank Puppets, will be performing their comedy puppet show ‘Bunkasaurus’ at the Altona Theatre on Wednesday, September 28 at 1.00pm.
Hobsons Bay mayor Peter Hemphill said the Arts at Your Doorstep program offers Hobsons Bay residents the opportunity to enjoy professional theatre close to home.
“From music, comedy and kids shows, the Arts at your Doorstep program has something for the whole family,” he said.
“We’re excited to be able to have well known comedian Jude Perl, in July during NAIDOC Week the legendary Kutcha Edwards, and for our younger residents, an afternoon of puppetry and comedy at the Altona Theatre with Bunkasaurus.”
