Point Cook Road at Seabrook has reopened after the bomb squad was called in to check a bus on Thursday.
Leading Senior Constable Adam West said police were called about 10.30am after a suspicious package was found on the bus.
“We’ve got the bomb response unit there as a precautionary measure,” he said.
Point Cook Road, between Dunnings Road and Seabrook Boulevard, reopened about 1.30pm after the situation was deemed safe.
The incident had caused the 496 and 498 buses from Laverton station to Sanctuary Lakes and Hoppers Crossing to be diverted.
Services are back to normal.
