Bomb squad in Footscray after suspicious phone call

Police have cordoned off an area around the Australian Croatian Association’s club and a neighbouring petrol station in Footscray after a suspicious phone call was made to police on Thursday morning.

Police roadblocks have been set up around the Hrvatski Dom – Croatian House on Whitehall Street and the neighbouring BP service station on Napier Street.

A police spokesman confirmed police are currently performing a safety check at an address on Whitehall Street.

An eyewitness has reported police also examining a suspicious car found at the petrol station.
