Police have charged a 20-year-old Braybrook man and four other men with an array of charges following an alleged robbery in Southbank on Tuesday, May 24.
According to a Victoria Police spokesperson, a group of six males allegedly approached a 26-year-old man at Southern Cross station and then took the man to Batman Park, where the alleged incident took place.
“A 20-year-old Braybrook man was charged with robbery, theft, intentionally cause injury, recklessly cause injury, violent disorder, affray and assault in company,” the spokesperson said.
“He is expected to appear before Melbourne Magistrates Court later today [Wednesday, May 25].”
The spokesperson said a 13-year-old boy was released pending further inquiries, while police charged four other men, including a 17-year-old Loch Sport boy.
“An 18-year-old Hoppers Crossing man, an 18-year-old Wyndham Vale man and a 19-year-old Craigieburn man were charged with robbery, theft, intentionally cause injury, recklessly cause injury, violent disorder, affray and assault in company,” the spokesperson said.
According to the spokesperson, the trio were bailed to Melbourne Magistrates Court on November 11.
