Heavily armed police have surrounded a motel in Laverton as part of an ongoing investigation.
A number of people are inside the Westside Hotel Motel on the corner of Leakes and Fitzgerald roads in Laverton in Melbourne’s south west while police conduct the negotiations.
A Victoria Police spokeswoman said the officers were negotiating with suspects.
She said Special Operations Group officers were assisting in an attempt to take in to custody people inside the building.
Staff at the business declined to comment.
