Hobsons Bay has now launched its Better Places Program in Brooklyn and Altona North.

After recent success in Laverton, Spotswood and South Kingsville, the Better Places program is heading to Brooklyn and Altona North where residents are being asked to share what they love, what they would change and what ideas they have for the two suburbs.

Hobsons Bay council wants to hear from the community in regards to issues concerning local environment and amenity, transport and connectivity, community facilities and services and

shops, businesses and employment.

In the first stage of the program, residents are encouraged to share their thoughts on the two suburbs based on the three key themes of love, change and ideas. Residents are asked to include anything they think could help make Brooklyn and Altona North better places to live in the future.

Deputy Mayor and Cherry Lake Ward Councillor Daria Kellander says that she is excited to see the Better Places model come to Brooklyn and Altona North and is confident the community will have great ideas for the future of the suburbs.

“It might be ideas for public spaces and how they would like to see those designed and built in future, or ways we can improve transport and connectivity,” she said.

“We want to hear it all so that we can create a vision that truly reflects those that live, work and play in Brooklyn and Altona North.”

Surveys have been sent to all households but residents can also have their say online.

Feedback closes Wednesday December 8.
