Maribyrnong residents can explore their book and movie interests without leaving their house thanks to a new initiative from Maribyrnong Libraries.
The libraries have launched Book Bundle, a curation service for books or movies, which members can use for free.
Staff will personally curate the bundles after members fill in a short questionnaire about their tastes.
Community services director Clem Gillings said the bundles “harness the knowledge” of library staff for the benefit of members.
“[COVID-19] lockdowns have proved to be a busy time for our libraries which has served as the perfect time to launch this service as members currently cannot browse shelves,” Ms Gillings said.
“As part of the personalised service, local library members answer a few short questions to find their next book or film by.
“We hope our Book Bundles spark a love of reading in our younger residents and help others find their perfect match.”
The bundles are available through the click and collect service at Maribyrnong libraries.
The service will remain in place for use after lockdown has ceased.
