Business leaders’ lunch set to contribute to local groups

Williamstown MP Melissa Horne will present to about 250 business leaders, professionals and philanthropists later this month as part of the Hobsons Bay Community Fund Business Lunch.

The lunch will be held at Seaworks in Williamstown on Friday, June 17 from 11.30am.

Guest speakers will include Ports and Freight, Consumer Affairs, Gaming and Liquor Regulation and Fishing and Boating Minister Melissa Horne.

Funds raised from the lunch will contribute directly to grants awarded to local community groups in Hobsons Bay.

Fund chair Adrian Butera said the grant program will continue to focus on four key areas.

“The Hobsons Bay Community Fund works closely with the community to ensure our grants program aligns with the existing and emerging needs of the Hobsons Bay community,” he said.

“Four key priorities identified are the mental health of our young people, family violence and its impact on women and children, digital literacy for our older people and helping job seekers find work.

“In the last five years, the Hobsons Bay Community Fund has awarded over $220,000 in grants to local organisations supporting culturally and linguistically diverse communities, migrants and asylum seekers, people with disabilities and communities at risk of social isolation.”

Tickets are available for $165 per person or $1650 for a table of 10.
