Creative young people are being invited to shine in a competition being run for National Youth Week.

Maribyrnong council is hosting the competition, calling for entries in the form of writing, drawing and photography.

Workshops are being held as part of the Phoenix Youth Services school holiday program, helping young people create written, drawn and photographic works to enter in the competition.

Maribyrnong mayor Cameron McDonald said young people made an important contribution to the community.

“The National Youth Week Art Competition is the perfect way to highlight what young people add to our city,” he said.

The deadline for entries is April 8. Details: www.phoenixyouth.com.au. Enter via: www.surveymonkey.com/r/NYW2016
