Drivers in Maribyrnong are feeling the full force of the law, with six cameras in the area being listed in the top 50 for the number of fines issued during the 2020-21 financial year.
Motorists travelling through Yarraville are being caught out the most, with three cameras in the area identifying a significant number of speeding, red-light and unregistered vehicle offences.
A camera located at the intersection of Francis Street and Wembley avenue issued 5038 fines during 2020-21, while another camera at the same intersection facing outbound, issued 5126.
At the intersection of Williamstown Road and Somerville Road, 5164 infringements were issued.
Drivers in Footscray were also heavily impacted, with the camera at the intersection of Geelong Road and Droop Street detecting 9303 offences, placing the location at seventh place in the top 50.
A total of 6392 infringements were issued on Ballarat Road, while the camera at the intersection of Ballarat Road and Ashley Street in Maidstone detected 4431 offences.
The camera on Ballarat Road between Geelong Road and Jamieson Avenue was also listed as number three in the top 10 mobile road safety cameras, having issued 1769 infringements.
The total number of infringements issued for the 2020-21 financial year was 384,750.
