Thirty seven candidates are vying for seven vacancies on Hobsons Bay council in the October postal election.
Strand ward has three vacancies and covers Williamstown, Williamstown North, Newport, Spotswood and South Kingsville.
Cherry Lake ward has two vacancies and covers Altona, Seaholme, Altona North and Brooklyn.
Wetlands ward has two vacancies and covers Laverton, Altona Meadows and Seabrook.
Six of the seven current councillors are standing for re-election.
Strand ward councillor Paul Morgan is not seeking re-election, citing personal and professional commitments.
“A lot has changed for me in four years and it’s going to be very difficult for me to commit to council and give the 100 per cent that I’ve been giving for another four years,” he said.
Former councillors Tony Briffa, Michael Raffoul and John Hogg have announced their candidacies.

Lynne Daniels, Dwayne Singleton, Sandra Wilson, Brian Long, Anne Palmer, George Xanthopoulos, Angelica Geiger, Sasha Vazhnenko, Michael Raffoul, John Anrep, Tony Briffa, Judith Kirkman, Rita Barbara, Diana Rice and Jason Price.
Strand ward (three vacancies):
Therese McKenney, Badge Kurdi, Angela Altair, Elias Dib, Jonathon Marsden, Philip Ward, Barry Michael, Peter Hemphill, Olivia Ross and Wajde Wade Assaf.
Wetlands ward (two vacancies):
Amanda Chua, Michael Grech, Daniel Meilak, Colleen Gates, Rahul Walia, Luda Ruby, Khalid Souied, Carl Marsich, John Hogg, Diana Grima, Charlie Fiorini and Jerry Gubecka.
The Victorian Electoral Commission will start mailing ballot packs to all entitled voters on October 4, with people advised to contact the Hobsons Bay election office for a replacement if they had not received a ballot by October 12.
Voters need to complete the ballot and return it by 6pm on October 21. For a vote to be valid, all boxes must be numbered in order of preference.
