Newport Maarefa School pupils have celebrated graduating their Arabic language education.
Maarefa School co-ordinating principal Henaidy Helou said the students celebrated on Thursday, December 1.
“It was a wonderful occasion for these students, to stand and share the joy of their graduation with families and friends, speaking in Arabic about their journey of learning the Arabic language and its culture,” he said.
Founded in Melbourne in 1997, Maarefa School is an Arabic language community school responding to community demands for the teaching of the Arabic language and culture to their children and to promote intercultural awareness.
Maarefa School invites any person interested in participating in its programs regardless of race, ethnicity, gender or belief.
