Children across Melbourne’s western and northern suburbs are encouraged to get their letters to Santa Claus in the post early.
With more than 118,000 letters received last year, Santa Claus is requesting families post their letters before Friday, December 2, while schools need to send their letters by Thursday, November 24.
Australia Post retail operations general manager Josh Bannister said with Christmas an especially busy time for the organisation, children are encouraged to start thinking now about how they want to communicate with Santa.
“Families look forward to Santa Mail each year and there’s nothing better for us than helping children get their beautifully crafted letters to Santa,” he said.
“We load our trucks and planes, and the letters travel to him all the way from Australia to the North Pole.
“Santa Mail brings a sense of excitement to all and it’s a fantastic way to get children writing and practising their literacy skills.”
